What a wonderful weekend it has been. Too bad it's the end of summer but in celebration we have spent it all together...so nice! Yesterday the girls and I went to a Girlscout pool party, while Daddy and Jackson hung out. When we got back Daddy took the girls out to dinner and Jackson and I ordered pizza and watched a movie.
Today we skipped out on church for some last minute fun at the beach (I know we're awful, lol). It was nice, Frances and I were actually learning to bodyboard! After the beach we all went to the movies to watch Ponyo and the kids actually sat through the whole thing.
It's been a fun summer, mostly chill with no schedule to worry about, now it's back to school this week. Jackson starts kindergarten and Frances can't wait to go to 1st grade. Emily will start preschool next week and boy is she excited. I will have some much needed time to myself ;)
Below are some pics from the Mother-Daughter campout last week, that was fun too, can't believe I'm getting so adventurous! haha

Fun At Home
Frankie and I started Cooking 101 today. =) Just me and her. She recently saw the movie Matilda, a story about a little girl who doesn't have very nice parents and learns to care and cook for herself by the time she is 4yrs. old, and she is suddenly very interested in cooking. For dinner today she made us spaghetti, I stood by the whole time and gave her instructions and she did very well. =D I can't wait to get a new helper in the house. lol Here's a cool website I found in my search for kid friendly recipes, http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/kids/ , you'll also find handy tips on teaching kids to cook.
Jackson, my picky eater (the one who wouldn't eat spaghetti if his life depended on it) also wanted in on the action. He helped me make a seperate batch of noodles with butter and then ate his entire bowl! Talk about success!
Emily, my two year old who is in an entirely different catagory, goes around pretending her name is Wonda. She took up watching The Magic School Bus and one of the students names is Wonda, they were pretend role playing it one day and since then her name has been Wonda. What's funny is that she takes it completely serious, whether she is crying, playing or fighting, if you call her Emily she will correct you "I'm Wonda". Is this normal? lol
I'm so sad that I don't have a camera anymore I'm already missing out on recording so many special moments. =( I hope I find it soon.

Recent Happenings

I feel so happy and blessed to have such a wonderful little family. The kids inspire me and motivate me to become better everyday, while Jack helps me through those tough days when things are not so well. One of the best things about blogging/journaling is that you get to go back and see your previous posts, see how much your family is changing and growing. Here are a few recent pics of some of our latest adventures.

Frankie and Emily full moon watching in our backyard, I love their outfits!

Daddy got himself a new ride!

We recently took a trip up north, it was alot of fun, the kids especially liked the mini horse farm and ostrich and emu feeding farm.

I have to say that this has got to be Frankie and Jackson's favorite store! When we were approaching the store Jackson ran to the doorway and yelled "Billy Mayes!" LOL!
